IRGC statement on Wednesday confirmed that Col. Farshad Hasounizadeh and Col. Hamid Mokhtarband had been killed during an advisory mission in Syria. They had been operating as part of Islamic Republic’s advisory help to the fighter-warriors of the resistance in Syria. They had been reportedly killed during a fight with Takfirists.
The corpses of martyred colonels will be transferred to country through a formal funeral ceremony and will be interred in Khuzestan province, their permanent home.
The statement also offered condolences to the Leader of the Islamic Republic and the families of the martyred colonels, and emphasized that their path in fighting Takfirists would be continued.
